Approved Training by ODJFS for Licensed Child Care, Type A, Type B Homes in Ohio. Not Valid for Application of, or renewal of CDA's

This Course Meets and exceeds the requirements for Pediatric Basic First Aid Training as required by OAC 5101:2-12-10, OAC 5101:2-13-10, and OAC 5101:2-14-03

After Completion you will immediately be able to print a course completion certificate for Part 1. This course does not require an in-person skills assessment. Once the course has been reviewed by Central Ohio CPR, we will issue you a ODJFS Training form 01276 by email. We will also upload your training to your OCCRRA Professional Development Track if you have provided your OPIN number during the course. If you are using this training for initial or renewal of your CDA, you will need an in-person skills assessment to receive a Digital Certification form required by CDA. Skills assessments are conducted by a Central Ohio CPR certified skills evaluator. Chris Alexander, EMT-P has over 30 years experience as a Firefighter / Paramedic. He is a retired Shift Commander /Captain from the City of Grandview Heights Division of Fire. He has 6 years of pediatric trauma and critical care experience at Nationwide Children's Hospital in the Emergency Department, as well as 6 years experience as a Medflight paramedic in numerous bases throughout Ohio. Chris is the founder and CEO of Central Ohio CPR.

Nick Schaeffer, EMT-P has over 10 years experience as a Firefighter / Paramedic and currently serves with the City of Worthington Division of Fire & EMS as a Firefighter / Paramedic

Zack Schaeffer, EMT-P has over 8 years experience as a Firefighter / Paramedic and currently serves with the City of Delaware Division of Fire & EMS as a Lieutenant / Paramedic

Jenny Gottesman, BSN, RN has over 40 years experience as a registered nurse. She graduated with her Bachelors of Science in nursing from The Ohio State University College of Nursing. She has worked primarily as a operating room nurse at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and many outpatient surgical centers.

The course starts now, and you may access it at any time. This is a completely self-paced online course you decide when you start and when you finish. You can log in and out as often as you like and access this course on all devices. We only allow access to the course for 90 Days. You must complete in 90 days for certification

Is this course all I have to do for certification?
This course is Part 1 of 2 Parts for certification. Ohio child care licensing rules require an in person or physical skills test to have a valid acceptable certification. You must attend a skills evaluation with a approved Central Ohio CPR Skills Instructor.
